Sacramento Republic FC are a new up and coming soccer team that is a force to be reckoned with.

Currently, the Republic plays their home games at Bonney Field, located within the Cal Expo grounds.  However,The Sacramento Republic is building a new field that will be located  by the the railroads of downtown Sacramento.

The Republic brings the town together in a variety of new ways. Families and friends meet at the game to watch and to hang out. It’s a family friendly environment for children and parents of all ages.

“The games are really fun to watch and sometimes the games are very nerve-racking when the score is close with a little bit of time left in the game to go,” said Joe Guerra, a current Academics Plus student.

Throughout downtown and other urban areas in Sacramento, there are flags in office windows and stickers on most cars that pass.

The Republic succeeded in their first season by winning the league championship.
