Opinion: Students should be allowed to chew gum in class
Most teachers do not allow students to chew gum because they claim it is a distraction. They also don’t want the gum to be put under desks or in other people’s hair. But according to some studies, chewing gum can help you.
Studies show it can help students concentrate longer and can help students with tasks that require continuous attention and management. It is also proven that chewing gum can help you with memory,
sustained attention, learning, performance, and reduce stress.
Another thing that chewing gum can do is it can help improve jaw definition and strengthen your jaw. Most gum experiments are proven to help concentration instead of learning, but that can help students who have a hard time concentrating, and help kids not drift away from what the teacher is teaching.
