It took a few years to catch on and Minecraft made tons of updates so the game didn’t become boring. Millions of people started to play the game and some even played it for 24 hours straight. For six years, Minecraft was the most popular game in the world until Fortnite took over in 2017. Fortnite’s reign as the world’s most popular game has lasted for two years. Even with the numbers showing Fortnite’s superiority over Minecraft, many still believe Minecraft to be the better game. Even with fans strongly supporting Minecraft, older people don’t love the game as much as younger people.
