History of involvement

Brendan Jones ‘17 is best described as focused, passionate, and determined.

From his involvement in the Executive Council to the S.T.A.R. program, Brendan has been making an impact at Jesuit High School since his Freshman year.

This year, Brendan is the Executive Council President. As president, he collaborates with teachers, helps members of the council brainstorm new ideas, and works with other students to run particular activities.

The Executive Council has helped organize some of the most important school-related events this year, such as the tailgate before the football games against Granite Bay High School, Folsom High School, and Holy Bowl.  Additionally, the Executive Council organized the first movie night of the year and all the spirit week activities.

“There has been so much going on, and my goal is to continue this momentum we have going because I’m loving every second,” Brendan said.

He first got interested in being a member of the council when he was Freshman Class President.

“They always looked like they were having a good time and leading the school in a positive direction, which made me want to do the same,” Brendan said.

Other than the Executive Council, Brendan is also a Senior Retreat Team Leader, a member of the National Honor Society, a part of Jesuit’s Big Brother program for Freshman, a member of the S.T.A.R. program, and is involved in Liturgy Workshop. Even though Brendan is involved in many activities, he is always willing to go further.

“Brendan is willing to say yes to whatever is asked of him,” said Student Activities Director Tim Kelly.

Both Brendan and Mr. Kelly accredit Brendan’s success in co-curricular activities to his willingness to get outside his comfort zone.

“I always told myself, you’ll never regret getting too involved,” Brendan said.
