Continuing the love of basketball

Coach Jon Rotz ‘92 was named interim head basketball coach at Jesuit High School this summer, and his experience with the program gives him a great understanding of what his players will be able to accomplish this upcoming season.

Coach Rotz has been involved with Jesuit’s basketball program since 1989, working as an assistant coach for over a decade and playing point guard while he was a student at Jesuit, giving him a unique insight into what it takes to be successful.

“[I want to] give them a similar experience I had when I went here: be men for others, do their best and support one another, and to be friends on and off the court,” Coach Rotz said.

Coach Rotz wants his players to succeed at supporting one another, and to become lifelong friends.

“I played all four years here at Jesuit and made some of the best friends I’ve had in my entire life,” Coach Rotz said.

Along with the players, the basketball team also gets support from the Jesuit community.

“Everyone who supports the program makes it a great place to coach,” Coach Rotz said.

Coach Rotz is extremely excited to coach the Jesuit basketball program this upcoming season. He wants his his players to not only succeed on the court but as teammates, too.
