Hello, my name is Tyler Silber and I’m the Editor in Chief (EIC) for The Kraken Chronicle.

Participating in newspaper for the 2015 Jesuit High School Academics Plus program has been fun. I have learned a lot of new writing, editing, and leadership skills during my time here at Academics Plus. I have also gotten the privilege to oversee the writing and making of The Kraken Chronicle.

As a group effort this newspaper has become something great, and with guidance from the counselors the newspaper has become even better. On the first day of journalism class we were told about the different positions that were going to be part of our newspaper.

The next day we chose our positions and the counselors chose who would take the leadership roles. I was chosen to be the EIC. Our mission as a group is to show and tell the parents and children that Jesuit and its Academic Plus program is a very great place to be during the summer.

As a group we have accomplished so much and we have come so far. We have interviewed people for articles, written great articles very fast, and worked together to create a great newspaper.

I have had so much fun working on this newspaper team and I am very proud of what we have accomplished, and I hope that you enjoyed reading it as much as we enjoyed making it.
