The Jesuit High School Marauders take on the Granite Bay High School Grizzlies in a playoff game in the Father Barry Gym this Wednesday Feb. 25.

The Marauders are coming off of a big home win against the Grant High School Pacers by a score of 74-44.

The Marauders will have to play tough defense to stop high scoring Grizzlies junior Charlie Tooley and sophomore Darren Nelson.

Jesuit is coming into the game with an overall record of 17-10, with a record in league of 9-5. The Grizzlies are coming into the game with a record of 16-10, while going 5-7 in league.

Granite Bay is coming off a close home loss against Oak Ridge by a score of 47-44.

The Marauders will try to bring their momentum from last game into this one after their big 30 point home win.

“We just need to really lock down on defense and let the game come to us,” said senior Michael Beachley

Senior guard Isaiah Bailey will look to lead Jesuit’s high powered offense to a victory on Wednesday night, and he will be helped by fellow senior guard Austin Plaat and junior center Malik Duffy.

The Marauders have no trouble putting up points, but they will have to play lockdown defense to keep the high scoring Grizzlies in check.

If the Marauders can amp up their defense, they should be able to get past the Granite Bay Grizzlies and make a real run at the section championship.
