Marauders hope to keep season alive against Huskies

The Jesuit High School Marauders will go up against the Sheldon High School Huskies this Friday, Oct. 25.

The game looks to be an even one, as both teams have experienced their fair share of wins and losses.

The fact that neither team has a significant advantage over the other means the Marauders can’t rest easy. Aware of their opponent’s ability, middle linebacker Kiran Reddy ’20 knows what the team must do in order to come out on top.

“The key to success is to come out hitting harder than the other team, and to keep that same level of intensity going through the whole game,” Kiran said.

Although SHS will certainly challenge the Marauders, Jesuit Scout and Film Coordinator Coach Jonathan Isaac has confidence in his quarterback Daniel Susac ’20 and defensive back Roman Canaan ’21.

“Daniel Susac has accounted for 14 TD’s this season (13 passing, 1 rushing), against 4 turnovers (3 interceptions, 1 fumble),” Coach Isaac said. “Roman Canaan leads our team in defensive turnovers with 5 (3 fumble recoveries and two interceptions), to go-along with 25 tackles and 1 sack on the season.”

With the support of his team, wide receiver Jacob Hall ’21 feels optimistic not only for the game against SHS, but for the rest of the season as well.

“My expectations for the game is to get our season back on track and fix the loopholes in our assignments so we can get back into a high level of play,” Jacob said. “We have prepared this week with excessive amounts of film, allowing our defense to be mentally prepared for the Huskies’ offense.”

Come out and support Jesuit as they travel to SHS to battle the Huskies this Friday at 7 p.m.
