Jesuit High School’s annual Homecoming Dance is on Saturday, Oct. 5. This Homecoming will be the first formal dance for the freshmen, an important moment in the beginning of their high school career.

Some experienced seniors have come up with advice to have the best possible experience. 

Student Activities Coordinator Jack Minor ’20 explains how to have to make the most out of the night.

“Spend it with the friends that you can be yourself around because it will make it easier to be less awkward,” Jack said. “Make the night fun.”

Student Body President Cole Barrett ’20 reminds us about the importance of being respectful and relaxed during the dance.

“The first and most important thing to remember is to treat your date respectfully,” Cole said. “Remember that there are only a maximum of 4 Jesuit Homecomings, so make the absolute most of it. Sometimes, nerves can restrict you from being yourself. Don’t fall into the trap of nervousness.”

Although the dance is the main attraction, much of the fun happens off the dance floor. 

“Homecoming isn’t just about the dance; it’s about before — having dinner and photos — and after — hanging out with friends and getting to know everyone better,” said Caelin Sutch ’20.
