The annual Jesuit Food Drive is underway and it’s up to the students of Jesuit High School to provide food for families in the Sacramento area this holiday season.
Jesuit’s Executive Council, which runs the food drive each year, has set a goal of 80,000 pounds. That’s because the members of the council believes that the Jesuit community can surpass that goal and deliver much needed foodstuffs to the Stanford Settlement Neighborhood Center.
All students have to do is drop by the truck parked in the back of the school by the soccer field before or after school and hand off their cans to a waiting team of porters.
So clean out your pantries, ask your relatives and friends, or hit the supermarket. There are people, even locally, that need our help.
The Executive Council is offering some pretty sweet prizes, too, from Jesuit merchandise to a 40 inch television.
But ultimately, the question to ask is this: can you be a “Man for Others”? It’s up to you, Marauders, to rise up and fill that title with your deeds.
