Marauders meet the Mustangs
The Jesuit High School Marauders face the Monterey Trail High School Mustangs on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 1pm at Jesuit. This game will be a deciding factor in Jesuit’s race for the playoffs and a league title.
Jesuit will look to avenge last year’s 28-3 loss to Monterey Trail.
“Last year, we underestimated the team and didn’t prepare that well,” said quarterback Calvin Brownholtz ‘17. “The difference this year is we don’t underestimate anybody, and we are taking it very seriously by listening to the coaches and staying disciplined.”
The Marauders are fresh off a 45-20 win against the Franklin High School Wildcats, and Jesuit looks to keep rolling as the regular season is almost finished with only two more games to go.
They are confident that they can pick up a win at home after playing well on both offense and defense during last weekend’s game.
“Big win last weekend after our two losses to Elk Grove and Sheldon,” said Calvin. “It was a big bounce back game and hopefully we carry that moment forward into this week.”
The team is excited for the game and if they win, it will mark their fourth victory of the season, making them 4-2. They’ve been preparing all week for this matchup and will go into the game with all sincerity.
“The team is working very hard,” said Calvin. “We condition really hard every week and it pays off.”
More than halfway through the season, the Marauders hope to continue to display signs of their effort and will to win.
