Jesuit falls to the Thundering Herd

Last Saturday at Hanson McClain Advisors Stadium, the Jesuit High School football team played against the Elk Grove High School Thundering Herd. The game was close for a half, but ended in a 6-33 loss for the Marauders.

Going into the game, the Marauders were confident that they would come out on top, but as the second half progressed, it was evident that victory was not in the cards.

Jesuit’s defense put up an admirable front against the Thundering Herd, but the Marauder offense was never able to get the ball rolling.

“The normal game hype we usually have just wasn’t there,” said center Dylan Ford ‘18, speculating about the cause of the poor showing. “Usually, we have a huge play or something to get the momentum going, but it just didn’t happen during the game.”

That doesn’t mean that the game went without notable plays, such as a 60 yard reception by wide receiver Jonathon Amadi ‘17.

Even after this loss, Jesuit still possesses a winning record (4-2) going into week seven of the season.

“Every week is a battle,” said Coach Ross Evans.

That being said, the Marauders hope to put up a more successful battle versus the Sheldon High School Huskies next week.
