Wrestling to the road of success
Hard work and dedication to his team is what makes Nathaniel Parry ‘17 such a dominant wrestler.
Over his five years of wrestling, Nate’s successes have instilled in him a desire to win. As a competitor, he feels that working to the best of his ability will grant him the best opportunity to win.
“The feeling of having your hand raised as the victor is well worth the pain, especially when it is backed with hard work and heart,” Nate said.
Given the nature of the sport, Nate’s determination is impressive.
“Wrestling is very demanding, physically and mentally,” said Tom Tirapelle, the Head Varsity Wrestling Coach. “It takes 14 individual efforts contributing to the team’s success.”
His teammates notice Nate’s hard work and dedication at practice as well as outside of practice.
“Nate works hard at what he does. Nate understands the sport of wrestling, and I believe he will go far in his wrestling career,” said fellow teammate Alex Mar ‘17.
Nate’s proudest moment as a Jesuit wrestler is when his team placed second in Districts last year, narrowly defeating Franklin High School.
“This was exciting for Jesuit because prior to this we had been an easy team to beat,” Nate said. “But with a new attitude, we were able to beat many teams and compete with some very good ones.”
With his Junior year already in session, Nate Parry is trying to make the most out of his passion for wrestling. His attitude and work ethic show not only how he loves the sport of wrestling, but also models a true team player.
