Battle against Davis

This Tuesday, Jesuit High School’s Lacrosse team will face off with rival Davis Senior High School on the field. The stakes are even higher this time around, as Jesuit hopes to get more than just a win from Davis.

“Davis is always a big rivalry game for us because every game we play against them goes down to the wire,” said senior varsity player Kyle Jacobs. “This year it’s even bigger because we’re fighting for the number 1 seed for [Sacramento Valley] League playoffs, so every game counts.”

So far the team has produced well this year, winning game after game and dominating their league. They have been a steadfast group right from the start, and the end result is their shining record.

“The team has been doing great winning our last 5 games,” said senior varsity player Gunner Aceves. “[The team] is really gelling together at the end of the season.”

The team is also looking ahead of their challenge to future games. They hope to continue their streak and increase their record.

“This year the boys have played phenomenally and have really played together as a team,” said senior varsity player Brandon Alpert. ” As a result, the team has a 12-2 record and has high hopes of taking down Davis and Granite Bay [High School] this coming week.”

The Jesuit Marauders hope to give the Davis Blue Devils a run for their money this week, and plan to show the rest of the league that they are the team to beat.
