Faceoff with Franklin
Friday April 17, Jesuit High School’s baseball team prepares to face off with Franklin High School at home. With a positive start to the season, the team has high morale going into the game.
“The season has started off great. The team is playing quality baseball against elite competition,” said senior varsity player Jack McAdam. “We have had big wins against De la Salle and Pleasant Grove so far.”
Big wins like these show that the team has been working well and that they can match up against a good challenge.
“The team is looking good,” said senior varsity player Mario Zendejas. “We’ve been playing a lot of team-oriented baseball which has led us to a 4-1 League record.”
The Marauders also rank 6th in the Division 1 standings, and having beaten the Wildcats already this season, so FHS is looking for revenge. But no matter the standings, the players are still on their guard.
“It’s going to be a good match up against the wildcats,” said senior player Mykie Goudreau. “We need to keep out hot bats going and a strong defense behind our ace pitcher [senior] Tanner Dodson.”
With a winning record, the Marauders feel confident as they prepare to play the Wildcats this Friday.
