Cassidy Nguyen ’17, the lead senior programmer of Jesuit High School Robotics, knows students need self motivation, dedication, and motivation for success. He works long work hours. He also works in the management of  the software department.

Jesuit robotics makes underwater ROVs that complete tasks in machining, electronics, programming, design, and more. They compete internationally at the MATE international ROV competition with teams from colleges.

The robotics team is always trying to get better because they want to win at such a high level.

“This year, we changed up our management process. We use what’s called an albala room … We have sticky notes [to] organize our tasks and meet project deadlines and deliver according to schedule,” said Cassidy.

Cassidy and the team work hard, but they enjoy what they do.

“I would advise [anyone] to tryout robotics because it’s … such a good experience.  You begin to grow in brotherhood. You get pretty close with your buddies,” said Cassidy. “It’s a tight connection.”
