Jesuit faces Grant today

The Jesuit High School Marauders will hit the road to play Grant High School Pacers at 6:15 p.m., November 6th. This will be the Marauders’ last league game, and they currently have a 1-3 record on the road.

The Marauders’ recent loss to Monterey Trail High School has set their league record to 3-3. The Pacers are ranked second in the Delta League with a 5-1 record.

The Marauders’ focus is on learning their assignments and alignments. This has been greatly stressed in practice this week, both on offense and defense.

“The team has been working on execution. We really have been stressing doing your job, knowing where to line up, and knowing what to do,” said cornerback Jonathon Amadi ‘17

The Marauders expect this game to be a battle: the pressure is on them because for many of the Jesuit players, it could be the last game of their high school career.

“It’s going to be a dogfight,” said running back Jake Vassar ‘17. “For the juniors, it’s out time to step up. For the seniors, it’s time for them to show what they’re made of.”

With the Marauders’ regular season coming to a close, Grant is their last obstacle in securing a playoff spot.
