Jesuit faces off the Monterey Trail Mustangs this Friday night

After a last minute upset against the Franklin High School Wildcats (10) this past weekend, the Jesuit High School Marauders (18) will travel to Monterey Trail High School for an away conference game against the unranked MTHS Mustangs this Friday night at 7:30 p.m.

Although Jesuit’s record is 1-2 for away games, Jesuit has high hopes to take away a win under the Friday night lights.

This could be the Marauders third win in a row, and finally allow them to keep some momentum heading into playoffs. As a result,  the team has been ramping up the intensity in practice.

“Our physical toughness with rigorous tackling circuits and perfect execution on the offensive and defensive side of the ball is what will secure a playoff spot for us,” said linebacker Luke Thayer ‘16.

Since the beginning of the season, the team has significantly improved team chemistry and intensity, hoping to display their progress in their second to last game of the season before playoffs.

“One big thing we have improved is that our practices have been ‘up tempo’. We’re getting closer towards playoffs so we now have a ‘win or go home’ mentality,” said linebacker Bailey Abercrombie ‘16.

As the Marauders enter the home-stretch of their season, they only have one loss to spare in their last two games as they strive to play in the post-season.
