This Saturday at 7 p.m., Jesuit High School varsity soccer team takes on Davis High School at Bonney Field, the popular home of the Sacramento Republic FC. Davis has always been a challenging opponent in soccer, but the Marauders are confident in putting this game in the back of the net.
At 14-1-1, Jesuit is especially ready for this rematch after Davis gave Jesuit its only loss of the season. In the first brawl, neither team was at full strength, but this next face off will allow the two teams to put their best foot forward.
“Yes, we are ready for the Davis rematch. Every game we have played since the last Davis game, our goal has been to score more and to concede less than what Davis scored on us,” claimed Luc Barbe ’15, the Senior goalie who has played in Jesuit’s box for the past 3 years.
The Marauders have out scored their last 7 opponents 28-4 since losing to Davis on September 17th.
“My hope is that we play a good game and the guys enjoy the moment. A lot of work has gone into setting the game up,” said Mr. Paul Rose Varsity Soccer Head Coach.
Traditionally, Jesuit has played its biggest rivals at Capital Christian’s soccer field, a favorable venue for big crowds. This game at Bonney Field might lead to a future home for high school grudge matches to take place.
Parking at the game is $10 and admission is $6.
We hope that the match between the Blue Devils and the Marauders will have the crowd on the edge of their seats, waiting for one team to put it in the back of the net.
