Editor’s Note: November 2016

We have a really weird tendency to commercialize special occasions.

Probably due to the 37 mattresses I picked up at spicy prices this Veteran’s Day, I’m starting to feel the seasonal weight of commercialism.

Every year I feel like I hear some trite complaint about the tragic bastardization of holiday traditions as the stranglehold of capitalism wrings all of the joy and meaning from life.

But no one ever seems to do anything about it.  There’s something that makes people feel really good about condemning this ever-present trend.

I’d go on, but I’m almost out of room.  Now if you’ll excuse me, after I wrap up this annual holiday rant I’ve got to go stock up on things nobody needs for dirt cheap.
